Howard's End Salon
Richard Howard started Howard’s End in 2001. It is a small salon located in Middle Row right in the heart of Stevenage Old Town. Behind the bright cerise pink 300-year-old door is a friendly little shop with a great big heart, owned and managed by Richard. Trained locally and in London, Richard was lucky enough to be coached for a while by Oscar and BAFTA hair & make-up winner Christine Blundell.
When you walk through Middle Row, you will always hear laughter coming from the salon. You can see instantly that his team get on really well and are passionate about what they do, the atmosphere is always happy & welcoming.
The stylists have dozens of years’ experience between them and have been on courses with L’Oréal, Wella, Vidal Sassoon, TiGi, Toni & Guy, Saks and Hobbs Academy and colour company Keune.
Meet our stylists
Richard & Julie
Julie has always been in the industry and recently updated her skills with Toni and Guy. Her teenage daughter keeps her up to date with the latest trends.
Jay joined us in 2016. He previously worked in London and was a senior stylist at Rush in Cambridge. His real pleasure is precision cutting and he has excellent gents’ barbering skills. When not working in the salon Jay plays guitar and writes music.
Keune, the salon’s colour house, have excellent ethics and values.
“We are all part of a larger world that we need to treat with care. Your best also means helping people with disabilities feel valued, every day. The Keune Group offers employment to those with mental disabilities, as part of our team. We also welcome displaced people, who have had to flee their countries and seek new lives with us. Keune also loves animals and is proud of our cruelty-free practices. Then there’s our planet, which needs us, too. So, we save energy, reduce water waste, use natural lighting – and even take advantage of the chilly Dutch climate to cool products during production”
